The England cricket team is the team that speaks to England and Wales (and until 1992 likewise Scotland) in worldwide cricket. Since 1 January 1997 it has been administered by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), having been at one time represented by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) from 1903 until the end of 1996.

Britain and Australia were the first teams to play a Test match (on 15–19 March 1877), and those two nations together with South Africa shaped the Imperial Cricket Conference (antecedent of the International Cricket Council) on 15 June 1909. Britain and Australia additionally played the first Day International (ODI) on 5 January 1971. Britain's first worldwide Twenty20 match was played on 13 June 2005 against Australia. Starting 17 August 2014, England have won 339 of the 952 Test matches they have played and lost 275 (with 338 draws). Britain's One Day International record incorporates completing as runners-up in three Cricket World Cups (1979, 1987 and 1992), furthermore as runners up in the ICC Champions Trophy in 2004 and 2013. They won the ICC World Twenty20 in 2010.

Starting 16 December 2014, the team is positioned third in the ICC Test rankings, fifth in the ODI rankings and eighth in T20 Internationals and the Twenty20 world ranking.
