On the consequent Australian visit, contrasts in the middle of Yousaf and alternate players went to the front line, bringing on Yousaf to give the captaincy of the fifth ODI to Shahid Afridi. Shoaib Malik, skipper the group in the T20 (after Afridi was suspended because of ball altering), began a tirade against Yousaf.

The aforementioned rebellion lead to an operation cleanup inside the Pakistan group, when selectors were asked not to consider Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousaf for any future arrangement.
